Google Buzz displays location info from Twitter tweets

In last august, Twitter announced Location API.

Google Buzz was making lots of improvements on how tweets are imported to Buzz.
Buzz started hyperlinking @userids in tweets.
#hash #tags in tweets are linked to Google Social search results.

And now, Google Buzz also displays the location information of the tweet (if available).

Though it has these many improvements, Google Buzz doesn’t import tweets in real time.
The delay is not in minutes, but in hours.

Google Buzz hyperlinks twitter hash tags

In continuation to my previous post (I was trying to find if twitter hash tags are hyperlinked), Google Buzz has started making hash tags from tweets clickable. (What are hash tags?)

Well, it is clickable, it doesn’t take to you to twitter search results, but to Google social search results.

Checkout these buzzes Buzz one and Buzz two, the hash tag for #iPhoneOS4 links you to Google’s social search result for “iPhoneOS4”.

But the same tweet viewed in twitter will take you to twitter search result for iPhoneOS4.

Google Buzz already was hyperlinking @userids in tweets to twitter user profiles. As well as Google Buzz has its own @reply mentions to GMail users.

But Google Buzz still does not have hash tags for native buzzes.

Google Buzz hyperlinks to Twitter @userid links

Google Buzz can connect with the twitter profile of the user and import all the tweets to buzz.
This was a good feature, but only the urls in the tweets had hyperlinks in Google buzz. The hash tag links and @userid links that work in twitter, were just texts in Google Buzz.
But now, the @twitter links link to twitter profile of the user in Google buzz.
All said, this will be applicable only to the forthcoming tweets getting into buzz. Your old tweets will not work with hyperlinks; don’t expect that.
I am still checking if the hash tags in tweets work in Buzz or not.
Though Google is working on all these goodies, tweets are taking a lot of time to reach the buzz profile; sometimes it takes a full day.
