Google Building Maker – google.com/buildingmaker

Google introduces Google Building Maker for Google Maps as well as Google Earth.
This will make the Google Maps to show real 3D buildings.

 
How to use it?


First, install Google Earth Plugin
Then go to Google Building Maker (You will need to login with your Google Credentials)

Select a city, zoom in, and select a building in it. Select a building image for creating a 3D building there.
Add a building shape. The available shapes are, Box, Gable, Hip, Pyramid, Flat top pyramid, Ramp and Vertical Freeform block.

Locate the building shape properly in the image, and resize/rotate it.
Click the Save button, and give a name to the Building and also a description.

Google Sketchup is being integrated with Google Maps, to make the user create Buildings on the live world. (Google Sketchup is a 3D modelling tool from Google)

Currently we can create buildings in only a few cities. But, this way Google can make whole Google Maps to provide real 3D images. And Google earth will become much better tool to explore the world, sitting before the computer.

Google says, it is More like a game than a tool !
